Obituary of Norman Elmer Trenholm

The death of Norman Elmer Trenholm, husband of Margaret Mary (Deveau) Trenholm, occurred on February 5, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Cape Tormentine, NB, he was the son of the late Elmer D. and Margaret Jane (Bryanton) Trenholm. He served during WW II with the 14th Field Ambulance Unit RCAMC and was a D-Day Veteran. He was employed as an Administrator with the Department of Veterans Affairs until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 2 and the Union of Portland Lodge No. 10 F&AM. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a hunting guide. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Merle of Ontario, his step-children Ann Linton and her husband Tom of Ontario, Karen Cormier and her husband Laurie of Saint John, Wayne Griffin of Saint John, Gordon Griffin and his wife Doris of Saint John, Joseph Griffin of Saint John, his six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Keith Trenholm, his step-son Kevin Griffin, his brothers Merrill and Eldon and his sisters Ella Estabrooks, Daphae Trenholm, Blanche Carter and Etta Gates. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2003, at 11:00 AM, from St. George's Anglican Church, 100 Watson Street. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
