Obituary of Raymond Garfield Albert

Albert, Raymond G. - The death of Mr. Raymond Garfield Albert of Prince Edward Street, husband of Louise (Doiron) (Cyr) Albert occurred on June 18, 2003 at his residence. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Allan and Jenny (Wilkinson) Albert. Raymond was employed with the City of Saint John as a heavy equipment operator, a veteran of WWII he had served in the Army from 1939-45 with the Saint John Fusiliers and overseas with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry and joined the Air Force from 1950-70 were he went overseas to Europe. He was a past member of the Markland Masonic Lodge Kingston, NS, R.C.L. Branch # 69. Besides his loving wife Louise, Raymond will be very sadly missed by his twenty children whom he bragged about to everybody he would talk to. He is survived by six sons; Stephen (Jo-Ann), Robert (Gladys) Crossman, Danny Metzler, Timothy (Joann), Allan (Angela) all of Saint John, NB, Raymond Jr. (little Ray) of Portage La Prarie , MB and Daniel of Moncton, NB, two daughters; Jenny Strain of Terrace, BC and Cynthia Thorne of Gibsons, BC, stepchildren Linda (Ronnie), Lorna (Bill), Lorraine (Wilfred), Laura (Frank), Lois (Gill), Leona (Wendell), John (Aileen), Gary (Debbie), Mary (Al), Marlene (Bill), Darren (Louise), Luanne (Greg), Sandy (Mike), two sisters; Lillian Stein and Joy McKenzie both of Saint John, NB, grand children; Ashton, Ronalda, Donald, Adam, Tamara, Tinishia, Trent, Tyler, Tara, Robert, Cassandra, Jakob, Jasmine, Tanisha, Shawn, Cynthia, Tanya, Evangeline, Rebecca, Dustin and several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers; Allan (Bubs), Donald and Percy and two sisters; Norma, Gladys and Stella. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Royal Canadian Legion Tribute being held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Fowler celebrating. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
