Obituary of Bertha Mae Hatfield
The death of Bertha Mae Hatfield, wife of the late Lloyd Hatfield, of the Loch Lomond Villa, occurred on March 11, 2004, at her residence. Born in Amherst, NS, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Ella (Dunphy) Wilkins. Her family was the center of her life and she took great pride in them. She is survived by her son David and his wife Alice of Saint John, her daughter Tricia and her husband Weyman Watson of Saint John, her seven grandsons, five great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her daughter Mary Melvin, her three brothers and her three sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 7-9 PM and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2004, at 2:00 PM, from Brenan's Chapel. Following cremation interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
