Obituary of Helen Marion Stilwell

The death of Helen Marion Stilwell, of the Loch Lomond Villa, formerly of Champlain Drive, Saint John, wife of the late Hugh A. Stilwell, occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late A. Garfield and Helen Alice (McAlary) Neal. Mrs. Stilwell was a graduate of Saint John High School and the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing and worked in the Geriatric Department of the Hospital for many years. She was a life member and Alumni of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing, Dominion Life Member of the Baptist Women's Missionary Society, Charter and life member of the Simonds Lioness Club and a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Gamma Master Chapter. She is survived by her children, Carol MacKay (Allan) of Saint John, Douglas of Quispamsis and Frederick (Joan) of Sydney, NS, sister, Barbara White of Toronto, ON, grandchildren, Roger Stilwell, Kimberly Stilwell, Bronwyn Stilwell, Tara Safford and Timothy MacKay, two great-grandchildren, Erin and Ethan Safford, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Cheryl Stilwell, brothers, Donald and Ralph Neal and sister, Dorothy Corbett. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 21, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
