Obituary of Reta Elizabeth Alderman
Peacefully at her residence, Kennebec Manor, Saint John, NB, Reta Elizabeth Alderman, wife of the late Wesley A. “Pete” Alderman, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007. Born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Margaret (McDonald) McCormick. Reta was employed for many years with Irving Oil. She was a devoted wife and mother and took great pleasure in her family. She was a life long member of St. Peter’s Parish and drew great strength from her faith and observation of the novena. Survived by two sons, Peter of Bayfield, NB and Daniel of Saint John; two daughters, Lynn Alderman (Raymond Gionet) and Patricia Alderman-McCrea (Larry), both of Saint John; two brothers, Arthur (Josephine) McCormick of Saint John and Willard (Theresa) McCormick of Burton, NB; one sister, Alva (Donald) Perna of Johnstown, New York, USA; eight grandchildren: Tom, Scott, Dan, Aaron, Jordan, Jody, Jennifer and Sean; caring friends, Bruce Murphy and Ann Alderman; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Pete in 1989 and son, Terry in 1996; sister, Vera Hartt and brother, Ralph McCormick. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, Clarendon St., Saint John on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 11 am. A private interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
