Obituary of Mona E.J. McKim
Surrounded by her loving family, Mona McKim, wife of the late R. Bruce McKim and daughter of the late Willard and Adavilla (Mullin) Rolfe, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at her home in Millidgeville, Saint John, NB. Mona was born in Sunny Corner, Northumberland County, NB. She attended local schools including St. Mary’s Academy, from where she graduated with a diploma in Business Education. She came to Saint John, where she worked for several years with NBTel, until she chose to start a family and remain at home to raise her two sons. Mona enjoyed active participation in sports – particularly curling and golf, where she was a member of Riverside Country Club. She was a representative for Beauty Counsellor products, with a loyal clientele. Mona was a member of the Valcartier Chapter of I.O.D.E., Portland United Church and the Union Club. She is survived by two sons, Andrew Rolfe McKim of Paris, France and Robert George McKim (Magda Issa) of Halifax, NS; grand-daughter Lindsay Erin McKim and her mother Sheila McKim also of Halifax, NS; one brother, Jarvis Rolfe of Sunny Corner, NB. She was predeceased by sisters, Catherine Matthews and Elizabeth Jardine and brothers, Edward, Herschell, David and Gerald Rolfe. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at Portland United Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 2 pm, followed by a reception. Interment in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances to Portland United Church or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
