Obituary of Edmonde Cormier
The death of Edmonde Cormier of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Joseph Basile Cormier, occurred on Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bertrand, NB a daughter of the late Edmond and Delima (Travers) Cormier. Edmonde had been a member of St. Pius X Parish since 1962 and was an active member of the Church Choir, the CWL and the Quilting Guild; she was a member of the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary and was an avid gardener having had a plot at the Community Vegetable Gardens for a number of years. Her greatest love was that of her family especially her grandchildren. Survived by two sons: Rene (Lori) of Calgary, AB and Michael (Joan) of New Maryland, NB; three daughters: Linda (Brian) Stafford of Saint John, Janet Erb of Saint John and Eileen Cormier (Brian McAfee) of Tallahassee, FL; one brother, Gerard (Mona) of Bertrand; four sisters, Marguerite (Sylvio) Paulin of Saint John, Patricia Cormier of Bertrand, Rose-Marie (Jules) Pinet of Bertrand and Yvette (Johnny) Branch of Bathurst, NB; nine grandchildren: David, Alan and Martin White, Justin Erb, Mark and Lisa Cormier and Joseph, Rachel and Annie Cormier; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Basile Cormier in October, 2005 and a brother Claude Cormier. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street, Saint John on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of one’s choice.
