Our family was close to the Bertrand Family, initially as neighbours and then as friends living an hour a part in Montreal. They were a lovely, warm and cultured family. We lost contact with Mark in his teens and always wondered what happened to him. Sadly, now we know. The Mark that we knew was smart, handsome, funny, fluently bilingual and immensely talented. We usually saw the Bertrands once a year for a Christmas dinner on Boxing Day. Mark would sit at the piano and play any pop song we asked him to play, seemingly effortlessly. I am glad to know that, in his last years, he had the support of Employment Options and was capable of working. He is still remembered by Brian and Phillip Morris.
