Obituary of Rose Carmalita Hackett
The death of Rose Hackett, wife of the late Herbert “Herbie” Hackett, occurred on February 23, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Saint John on June 15, 1923 to the late John and Rose (O’Brien) Butler. Rose was a loving mother and was devoted to her family. She was a life-long member of the Catholic Women’s League and Stella Maris Church. Rose is survived by her children: Judy Daigle (Roger), John (Kathy) and Linda Morais (Roland); daughter in-law Joyce Hackett; two brothers: Ron (Fran) and Vincent (Dawn); sister Grace Sharpe (Arnold); six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Bill, seven brothers and two sisters. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Stella Maris Church on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 12 noon. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery following the mass. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
