Obituary of Geraldine Mary Claire Olsen
The death of Geraldine "Gerry" Mary Claire Olsen, formerly of Magazine Street, Saint John, wife of the late Harry Olsen, occurred peacefully surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on February 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late W. Henry and Elizabeth (O’Sullivan) Childerhouse. Geraldine was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and their CWL. She is survived by two sons, Martin and his wife Marjorie of Quispamsis and Stephen and his wife, Marilyn of Ottawa, ON, one brother, Stephen Childerhouse of Winnipeg, two sisters, her twin, Georgianna Laviolette of Saint John and Agnes Campbell of Saint John, seven grandchildren, Christopher Olsen, Jennifer Smalldridge, Catherine Olsen, Timothy Olsen, Stephen Olsen, Christine Rogers and Lori Hamilton, three great grandchildren, Connor Olsen, Charlotte Olsen and Madalyn Rogers, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Julia Glynn, Gertrude Lawson, Wilhelmina Kunitzky and Aleda Johnson. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 12:00 Noon. Following cremation, interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Rocmaura Nursing Home or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
