Obituary of George Crocker Forbes
The death of George Crocker Forbes, husband of the late Gladys (Elliot) Forbes, occurred on December 2, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Tynemouth Creek, NB, he was the son of the late William John and Ursula Stanford (Crocker) Forbes. He served with the Canadian Airforce during WW II. He was a general contractor and businessman who had been involved with Leighside Holdings Ltd., Shamrock Truss Components and Scottish Enterprises over the years. He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters. Survived by his son Thomas of Gardiner Creek, daughters Connie (Michael Dow) of Gardiner Creek, Linda (John Blizzard) of Saint John, sister Elizabeth Forbes of Saint John, grandchildren Sarah, Alexis, Caitlin and Christopher, great-grandchildren Reese and Isaac, and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday December 5, 2007, at 1:00 pm, from Brenans Chapel. Interment at Black River United Church Cemetery. Remembrances made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
