Obituary of Heather Anne Marsh
It is with a heavy heart and a somber spirit that the family of Heather Anne Marsh announces her sudden and tragic passing on Sunday, June 3, 2007. Heathers family and friends should find comfort with the knowledge that she was embraced and comforted by her husband, life-partner and very best friend in the final moments. Born on June 3, 1952 in Saint John, Heather embarked on a journey that would forever alter the lives and worlds of those who would have the privilege of making her acquaintance. She possessed a contagious vibrancy and unparalleled smile, both of which captivated the senses. Her unselfishness, intellect, determination and innate ability to nurture those around her have provided the impetus for her professional and personal success. The time Heather had on this earth was dedicated to bettering the human condition. She spent a valuable period of her time working with the Canadian Cancer Society with the hopes of eradicating such a virulent and unforgiving disease. Heather has dedicated the last decade of her professional career overseeing the pensions division of Great West Life, where she has been tirelessly attempting to secure the financial futures of countless individuals. However, Heather made her most profound mark with her union to Gary Clayton Marsh 35 years ago. Within those blessed years, they have amassed countless memories, secured life-long friends, and constructed a bond that will last the test of time. Heathers most important moments were spent with Gary providing a loving and supporting home for their two children—Jennifer and John—whom Heather loved so very much. Heather had a passion for interior design, which is evident to those who have stepped foot inside her home. She and Gary shared a passion for anything botanical and a penchant for vacationing in tropical destinations. Yet, Heathers biggest passion was her love of family. She yearned to entertain and display her culinary talents on any occasion, but particularly those that were family oriented, and thrived on the intimacy of being surrounded by those she felt so deeply about. She is survived by her husband, Gary Marsh; her daughter, Jennifer (Marsh) Clarke and son-in-law, Jonathan Clarke; her son, John Marsh and daughter-in-law, Jullie Rogers-Marsh; and the entire Marsh Family: Rhyna, Bumpy, Mike, Marilyn, Bruce, Stirling, Judy, Yoland, Shawn, Stacy, Andy, Jennifer, Sara, Rick, Matthew, Jillian, Ariel, and Aaron. It is the request of the family that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. A viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2007 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424).
