Obituary of Ida M. Pettis
The death of Ida May Pettis of Central Greenwich, NB, wife of the late Gar Pettis, occurred on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Gladys (Donaldson) Price. Ida was employed in the Housekeeping Department of the Saint John Regional Hospital for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the R.A.O.B and enjoyed bingo, gardening and ice fishing. She is survived by two sons, Brian Gerald “Danny” Pettis (Lisa) of Browns Flat and Rex Douglas Pettis (Mary) of Central Greenwich, one daughter, Judith Ann Ritchie (Paul) of Central Greenwich, one brother, James Price (Delma) of Hamilton, ON, one sister, Catherine Woodworth of Saint John, four grandchildren, James, Philip, Tamara and Jordan, four great grandchildren, Amy, Jesse, Emma and Vanessa, several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, John Price and one sister, Ruby Forrest. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
