Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Halsall
Halsall, Jean Elizabeth In loving trust, we place in God’s Hands, the passing of Jean Elizabeth Halsall, loving wife of 61 years to Donald Halsall, which occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on January 20, 2007, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born April 4, 1922, in Saint John, Jean was the daughter of the late Lillian (Weatherhead) and Thomas Alexander. Jean was employed with NB Tel prior to starting her family. She was an active member of Carleton-Kirk Church and was a life long member of both the choir and the UCW. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Nan to her three grandchildren. She enjoyed any kind of travel but especially in the car and was always up ready to go. She was a kind and generous person to all she knew. She is survived by her husband Donald E. Halsall; daughters Wendy Shephard (Tom Hutton) and Patti Smith (Charlie), all of Saint John; grandchildren Andrew Shephard of Saint John, Greg and Scott Shephard of Calgary; great-granddaughter Ava Shephard and her mother Jennifer Crilley, her best friend and sister Doris Nice (Firth); also many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her half-brother Les Alexander. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at 2:00 pm., at Carleton-Kirk United Church. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Carleton-Kirk United Church or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
