Obituary of Alan Noel Clarkson
Clarkson, Alan Noel … Following a brief period of failing health, Alan “Noel” Clarkson of Quispamsis, NB, formerly of Wolfville, NS, husband of Shirley (Anderson) Clarkson, passed away suddenly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, April 21, 2008. He was born in River John, NS on December 14, 1918 and had been employed with the Bank of Nova Scotia, beginning as a Junior Clerk and working his way through the ranks retiring after 43 years having served as Manager and Superintendent in several locales; during his youth, Noel was the Maritime Tennis Champion and later his sports-passion was golf; as a member of the Masonic Lodge he held a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite; friendly, kind and happy, he was a good father and great husband. Survived by his wife, Shirley of 58 years; a son, David of Saint John, NB; two daughters, Anne (Stuart) Hankinson of Vancouver, BC and Lynn Clarkson of Quispamsis, NB; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Luke and Thomas Clarkson, Erin, James and Carly Hankinson, Michael and Marty Green. Predeceased by a grandson, Timothy; a brother, Walter; step-brother, Fred; sister, Dorice and a niece, Elizabeth. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. A Memorial service will be held from St. Paul’s Church, Rothesay, NB on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2 pm. Remembrances may be made to any charity of choice.
