Obituary of Gloria M. Elward
ELWARD, GLORIA M.- The death of Gloria M. Elward of Sandy Point Road, Saint John, wife of the late Manley John Elward, occurred on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a battle with cancer. Born in Jacquet River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Lylla (Dempsey) Lapointe. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved shopping, scratch tickets and jigsaw puzzles. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Lea Elward (Peter Davis) of Saint John and Cathy-Jo Arseneault (Wayne) of St. Stephen, grandchildren Melissa Dawn Duplessis (David), Matthew James Stewart and Jennifer Marie Arseneault, all of Saint John, sisters, Mary of Ontario, Vicki of Minto, brothers, Gabe, Gussie, Chester, Raymond, George, Percy and Elias, all of Ontario and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Hilda and one brother, Claude. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 10:30 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances to the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
