Obituary of Pauline Martha Pitt
The death of Pauline Martha Pitt of Chateau de Champlain, Saint John, wife of the late Ralph Pitt, occurred on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Lakeview, Queens Co., NB on June 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Bessie (Barton) Hughes. Pauline was a book keeper at Doane Raymond for several years before her retirement. She is survived by one step-son, Gordon Pitt, two step-daughters, Betty Button (Albert) and Carolyn James all of Saint John, one brother, Kenneth Hughes (Carolyn) of Havelock, one sister, Doris Hughes of Riverview, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great gandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Arnold and Carey Hughes and three sisters, Iona Branscombe, Harriett Dickinson and Dorothy Hughes. By request there will be no visiting or funeral service. Interment will take place in Cambridge Narrows at a later date. Remembrances to the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
