Obituary of Vernon L. Head
The death of Vernon Louis Head of Rothesay, occurred peacefully on Monday, September 24, 2007 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on October 18, 1929, he was the son of the late Samuel and Tina (Whitty) Head. Vernon was employed at Irving Pulp and Paper (formerly Rothesay Paper) for 28 years before his retirement. He was a former member of the Papermaker’s Union and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by one brother, Wilfred Head of Rothesay, two sisters, Leona Purdy of Elmsdale, NS and Margaret “Peg” Danells of Rothesay, sisters-in-law, Connie Head of Rothesay and Minetta Head of Murray Harbour, PEI and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, William and Fulton Head and one sister, Marion Stewart. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated.
