Obituary of Douglas W. Soper
The death of Douglas Wayne Soper of Calgary, Alberta occurred on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his residence. Born in Kingston, ON on January 14, 1956 a son of George and Mary (Lowhan) Soper of Rothesay, NB. Doug was a previous resident of Rothesay and was a graduate of KVHS. He was an Associate Member of the RCL Branch #58. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, and had a passion for the mechanical, working on cars with his Dad. He was employed with the CNR, the Canadian Coast Guard and was employed in maintenance services with both the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #58 and with his own firm. He moved to Calgary about 10 years ago and worked in the Transportation Industry. Survived by his parents; a brother, David (Janet) of Rothesay; aunts, uncles and cousins. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with the Memorial Service to be held from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Rothesay, on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to New Brunswick Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
