Obituary of Joseph Henry Price
The death of Joseph “Joe” Henry Price of Saint John, NB, formerly of Hampton, NB, occurred on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Joseph and Lauretta “Laura” (Seaman) Price. Uncle, Joe had served overseas in France, Belgium, Japan and England in World War II, as a Sergeant Major. Uncle Joe was a private modest man with a heart of gold. His hobbies were building his model railroad, solving cryptograms and reading. He is survived by two nephews, William (Lynda) and Brian (Judy) Silliphant; one niece, Heather Ann (David) Nicol; several grand nephews and nieces. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step-father, William Ward; two sisters, Jean Ward and Beatrice (Price) Silliphant, and niece, Lauretta Trifts. He will be greatly missed. By Joe’s request there will be no visitation. Following cremation a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from Holy Trinity Church at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424).
