Obituary of Mary Lorette Quinn
The death of Lorette Quinn of Kingsway Care Center (formerly of Renforth), wife of the late Harold Quinn, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Sunday, November 02, 2008. She was born in Oyster Bed Bridge, PE on August 2, 1918 to the late Vital and Angeline (Gallant) Gallant. Lorette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a lifetime member of the C.W.L. Lorette volunteered at schools in Rothesay and at the Chalet in Renforth. She also volunteered with Girl Guides of Canada as a tester for badges and was a long time canvasser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB. She is survived by her four children: Donna Fex (Ken) of Calgary, AB, Timothy Quinn (Lorna) of Quispamsis, NB, Deborah Mummery of Windsor, NS and Annette Kierstead (Otto) of Quispamsis, NB; five sisters: Melina Daley (Leo), Rita Blanchard (Clarence), Yvonne Gallant (Arthur), Eleanor Deveaux (Jerry) and Zeta Peters (Arthur); one brother: Eugene Gallant (Louise); nine grandchildren: Venessa, Josh, Gregory, Nathan, Tony, Jennifer, Christopher, Hans and Zachery; one great granddaughter, Edith and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Lorette was predeceased by an infant son, Thomas Edward Quinn; two brothers: Allan Gallant and Louis Gallant and an infant grandson, Thomas Alexander Mummery. Lorette will be fondly missed by her loving family and many friends. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, From 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A C.W.L. tribute service will be held during visiting starting at 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Rothesay, NB on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
