Obituary of Charles Osmond Robin
Robin, Charles Osmond – The death of Charles Robin of Saint John, NB, husband of Elizabeth Ann Marshall-Robin occurred on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Deer Lake, NF on December 16, 1940 he was a son of the late Allan and Rose (Alexander) Rubia. Charles had worked at the Irving Nature Park. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed working with wood and helping others. Besides his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara Rubia (Tom) of Mission, BC and Ardeth (Frank) Cyr of Saint John; son, Carl Kneeland (Debbie Doucette) of Saint John; five brothers, Lawrence, Dan and Herbert Rubia, all of Newfoundland, Roy and Marcel (Donna) Rubia, both of Ontario; five sisters, Margaret Curnew, Winnie (Stan) McFatridge, Corrine Nardini, Matilda Madore and Rita Keating, all of Newfoundland; three grandchildren, Joshua Connelly (Hester Bryant), Brenda Connelly and Candace McCue; one great-grandchild, Devin Connelly; three brothers-in-law, Michael Marshall, Robert (Valerie) Marshall, both of Saint John and Charles (Mimi) Marshall of Maine, USA; two sisters-in-law, Judith Greenlaw and Ardith Bartlett, both of Saint John; mother-in-law, Julia Marshall; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by three brothers, Allan, Isadore and Raymond Rubia; a sister, Anna Young; brother-in-law, Roy Marshall. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 10:00 am. Remembrances may be made to any charity of choice. www.brenansfh.com
