Obituary of Donald Herbert Hickman
Donald H. Hickman of Saint John passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John, he was a son of the late Harold Havelock and Nettie (Craft) Hickman. Donald formerly owned and operated H.H. Hickman Plumbing and Heating, and was also formerly active with the Shriners. An avid boater, Donald was a member of the Royal Kennebecassis Yacht Club and the Saint John Power Boat Club. Donald is survived by his special friend, Virginia Stewart; two sons, Douglas J. Hickman (Clair Phillips) and Brian H. Hickman (Anna Landry), all of Saint John; two brothers, Francis Hickman (Lana) of Saint John and James Hickman of Wickham; sisters Shirley Peacock (Bruce) of Saint John, Elsie Craft of McDonald’s Point, Norma Bond (Gordon) of Wickham, Barbara Nixon (George) of Saint john, Winnifred Goguen of Fredericton, and Charlotte Hickman of Wickham; grandchildren Meredith, Lindsay, Gregory, and Joshua; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and Lloyd. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances to the Shriner’s Hospital for Sick Children or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
