Obituary of Audrey Anne Russell
The family of Audrey Anne Russell announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 21 at Kennebec Manor, following a period of failing health. Born February 28, 1928 at Saint John, N.B., daughter of the late Harold and Audrey (Cross) Mclean and loving sister to the late C. Robert McLean. She attended local schools including Saint John High before completing studies at Acadia University. She was a longstanding member of Germain Street United Baptist Church, where she participated in Agape and the Women’s Missionary Society, and in later years volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Russell had fond memories of her employ with the registrar’s office of UNBSJ. Mrs. Russell was wife of the late David Russell of Toronto. A dedicated mother, loved by extended family and friends, she is survived by son Robert Russell and his wife Helen of Saint John; daughter Sue Anne Mackin and her husband Frank of Saint John; son Bruce Russell of Vancouver; late daughter Sandra; five grandchildren: Katherine Russell, Laura Russell, Bree Mackin, Rob Mackin and Emily Russell; nephew John McLean; niece Fairlie McLean and great-granddaughter Sophie Haines. The body is resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424). Visiting hours are Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at Germain Street United Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, with internment to follow at Fernhill Cemetary.
