Obituary of Sarah C. Owens
Owens, Sarah Catherine- The death of Sarah Catherine Owens of Somerset Street, Saint John, NB, wife of the late W. Greg George Owens, occurred on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Sarah was born on June 13, 1920 at Saint John, a daughter of the late Arthur and Flora Catherine (Ross)Wallis. She was a life long resident of Saint John and was a life long member of Holy Trinity Parish. Sarah is survived by four daughters, Mary (Andre) Cushing of Georgetown, ON, Ann Marie Saunders, June (Donald C.) Dorey, and Marilyn (William) Blakney, all of Saint John, NB; one sister, Winnifred Reynolds of Toronto, ON; fourteen grandchildren: Roderick, Marleen, Andre, Kurt, Stephanie, Catherine, David, Terry, Tracey, Anna, Marion, Sarah, Anna and Gregory; several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Sarah was predeceased by her sons, an infant, Gregory and William Thomas; brother, John Wallis; sisters, Bertha Neilsen, Mary Collins and Evelyn Coughlin; and brother-in-law, Malcolm Reginald Owens. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road, on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 12 noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to United Way of Greater Saint John, would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
