Obituary of Lawrence J. Larsen
The death of Lawrence (Larry) John Larsen of Saint John, NB, son of the late Lawrence and Josephine (Brophy) Larsen, occurred unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on April 27, 1945, he attended local schools and was a graduate of St. Malachy’s High School and St. Thomas University, Fredericton, NB. He was a member of the Cathedral Parish. Larry had worked as a parole officer at one time and had operated several convenience stores over the years. He was presently a realtor with Coldwell Banker. He was an avid reader as well as an outdoorsman, greatly enjoying hunting and fishing and was a member of the Kigmy Club. He is survived by a son, Jason and daughters, Josie and Ali, all of Halifax, NS; brothers, Ronald W. (Cathy), and Michael J. (Karen Garland), all of Saint John, sisters, Louise (John ) Cook of Rothesay, Theresa (Paul) O’Blenis of Saint John, and Margaret (Leigh) Raymond of Kemptville, ON; grandchildren, Jonah and Emmy B.; several neices and nephews; and a special friend, Joan Maynes. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, John, Thomas and Robert. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street, Saint John, NB on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
