Obituary of Alfred Herthiel Garron
The unexpected passing of the Alfred Garron, husband of the late Constance (Blair) Garron occurred at his residence on Monday, August 3, 2009. He was born on February 19, 1921 in Westport, NS to the late Leonard and Voila (O’Connell) Garron. Alfred served his country overseas in the World War II. He was in the Army’s Medical Corp. After the war, Alfred worked as a Bus Operator for Saint John Transit for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #53 Jervis Bay. Alfred is survived by one son, Wallace (Linda) of Cabot, AK; two daughters: Darlene Saraceno (John) of Merrimack, NH and Deborah Collins (Bradford) of Maynard, MA; two brothers: George and Eldridge both of Westport, NS; four sisters: Alva McDormand, Maureen Swift, Iris Rogers and Beth Welch all of Westport, NS; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, August 7, 2009 at 10 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension’s Field of Honour. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
