Obituary of Anna Sheppard
Anna Sheppard of Saint John, wife of the late Malcolm Robert Sheppard, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Kingsway Centre, Quispamsis. Born at Hungary on September 15, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Sebeny) Veres. Anna was a faithful member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and her faith was an important part of her life. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening, even in her later years when it was difficult for her. She also liked to knit and crochet, and hook rugs. Anna is survived by a son Robert Sheppard (Beverley) of Hampton; a daughter, Paulette Riley (Randolph) of Vancouver Island, BC; a sister, Theresa McCoubrey of Moncton; grandchildren Corbin, Anna, Alexander, Victoria and Shannon; step-grandchildren Natasha and Jonathan; and several great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Anna was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia McPherson; a brother, Frank Veres; and a sister, Elizabeth Elek. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2020 Loch Lomond Road, Saint John East. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
