Obituary of Marjorie Olive Smith

Marjorie Olive (Andrews) Smith, Cambridge-Narrows, NB (formerly Saint John) at 81 years young went to be with her heavenly Father on April 22nd at the SJRH surrounded by her family. She was a godly mother with a soft -gentle spirit that influenced her family and friends, “she let her light shine” on all that were fortunate enough to know her. Born December 28, 1927, daughter of the late Leonard W. Andrews (1927) and Olive G. (Hovey) Campbell-Andrews (Hovey), predeceased by her brothers Clarence, Ralph, Burton and Clayton Campbell, Leonard D. and Ernest Andrews. Marjorie leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Winston James Smith. Her children - David (Augusta) Smith, Cambridge-Narrows; Douglas (Wanda) Smith; Brenda (Hank) Allen; Barbara (David) Kingston, Saint John; Daniel (Julia), Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; 15 Grandchildren, ten Great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marjorie attended the Full Gospel Assembly, Saint John for many years and most recently Mill Cove Church of God. She served on the Board of Directors of the Mill Cove Nursing Home 1986-90. She was an active member of the Akerley Quilters Guild, Cambridge-Narrows, loved designing and hand-stitching her beautiful quilts. She enjoyed spending time in her gazebo entertaining family and friends. Visitation is at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm. Celebration of Her Life to be held at the Full Gospel Assembly Church, 34 Mt. Pleasant Ave, Saint John, 11 am Monday, April 27th, 2009. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations be made to the “Aliant Pioneers Scholarship Fund” (which sponsors disabled students to attend college/ university), IWK Children’s Hospital or charity of your choice.
