Obituary of Lillian Irene Thompson
The death of Lillian Thompson occurred peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at her home in Saint John, NB. Born in York Mills, NB, the daughter of the late Ward and Emily (Kingston) Little. “Lil” was a Registered Nurse in Fredericton and Saint John. She enjoyed the summers at Harvey Lake and collected dolls as a hobby. She was an avid reader and followed politics intently, especially her Liberal party. She was predeceased by her husband, J.O.E. Thompson. She is survived by three sons, John Thompson and his wife, Pauline of Harvey Station, NB, Dr. David Thompson and his wife, Dr. Gretchen Zimmerman of Houston, Texas, Barry Thompson and his wife, Susan Guravich of Fredericton, NB; a daughter, Joan Chiasson and her husband Joe of Dartmouth, NS; five grandchildren, Ross, Kimberley, Richard, Rebecca and Kate; two great-grandchildren, Elle and Fischer. Lil is also survived by her "little" sisters, Avis and Jean. “Nan” will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 and Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station (506) 366-1994. Following cremation a memorial service will be held in Harvey Station, NB at a future date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of choice.
