Obituary of Francis X. Carvell

Carvell, Francis X. (Frank) … The death of Francis Carvell of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Dorothy (Wilson) Carvell, occurred on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Chatham, NB on November 15, 1914. He was the son of the late Fred and Vera (Cusack) Carvell. Frank worked at Morrissey’s Drug Store on Main Street for several years. He retired from the pharmacy at the Regional Hospital in 1982. Frank is survived by his daughter, Loretta; three grandchildren, Paul, Michael and Mary Ellen (Mike) Louvelle; three great-grandchildren, Michael and Jeffrey Louvelle and Benjamin Cormier; one great-great-granddaughter, Olivia; one brother, George; two sisters, Betty Douglas and Doreen Halt; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (Wilson); one brother, Hamel; three sisters, Florence Jenkins, Mary Bates and Katherine McCarthy. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. At Frank’s request there will not be any visiting at the funeral home. Memorial Mass will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, Clarendon Street, on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 11 am. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Animal Rescue League or any charity of the donor’s choice.
