Obituary of Lloyd Simon Illman
Surrounded by his family the death of Lloyd Illman of Morland Avenue occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on January 22, 2009. He was born in Saint John on January 5, 1945 to the late Lloyd Sr. and Helen (Morehouse) Illman. Lloyd graduated from Mount Allison University with a B.A., and attended Carleton and St. Mary’s Universities furthering his degrees. He had a varied working career but ill health forced him to retire at a young age. He enjoyed reading, theatre, his life with the Bible Study Group, Wednesday Chapel Services and the Senior Group at the Salvation Army. Lloyd frequented the Saint John Public Library and loved walking his dog every morning and evening. He is survived by four brothers: Robert, Terry (Marcella), Norman (Christa) all of Saint John and Gary (Ron) of Toronto, ON; three sisters: Margaret Kinney of Willow Grove and Penny Illman and Pam Coates (Mary Anne) both of Saint John; special friend, Dianne Leblanc of Toronto, ON; three nieces: Jennifer Mabey (Stewart), Jacqueline and Brittany Illman; three nephews: Sean and Bruce Illman and Adam Kinney; two aunts: Audrey and Marj and several cousins from New Brunswick and Ontario. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by a special nephew, Kenny Coates. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 10 am. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, Saint John Public Library or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
