Obituary of Hazen Armstrong Dick
Dick, Hazen Armstrong … The death of Hazen Armstrong Dick of Saint John, NB, husband of Evelyn (McCormack) Dick, occurred on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 17, 1924, he was a son of the late Oscar J. and Ethel L. (Bannister) Dick. Hazen was a Veteran of WWII, and following worked for 25 years at Wasson’s Drug Store and then owned and operated his own business, ABC Surgical. He was a member of the Masons - Hibernia Lodge, served with the Salvage Corps and was made an Honorary Member and served as Warden at Trinity Anglican Church. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn; two sons, Brian (Brenda) of Rowley, NB and Earle (Arlene) of Grand Bay … Westfield, NB; one daughter, Gail (Hilton) Lee of Lorneville, NB; a brother, Harold J. (Marion) of Ontario; two sisters, Grace Turner of Dartmouth, NS and Winnifred Walsh of Saint John; ten grandchildren: Keith, Richard, Christine, Shawn, Lindsay, Terry, Billy-Jo, Kyle, Cory and Kevin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tanisha, Courtney, Alexandria, Rebecca, Shelby, Jacob, Page, Julia, Landon, Hudson, Emily, Ava and Darcy; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Kenneth and Bartlett; one sister, Helen Oldfield. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or any charity of choice. www.brenansfh.com
