Obituary of Charlene Patricia Thorne
Surrounded by her family, the death of Charlene Thorne, wife of Lloyd Thorne occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. She was born on April 17, 1940 at Campbellton, NB to the late Wesley and Hazel (Ridgewell) Simpson. Charlene graduated from Saint John Vocational School in 1958. She worked at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Respiratory Therapy for many years until her retirement. Charlene was a member of the Kennebecasis United Baptist Church. Charlene was a loving mother and grandmother. Besides her husband Lloyd, she is survived by her son, Bruce (Kim) of Saint John; daughter, Kim Ferguson (David) of Saint John; sister, Florence Rost of Farmingdale, ME and five grandchildren: Kate and Vicki Thorne and Ryan, Curtis and Sarah Ferguson. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday and Friday, June 3 and 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, June 5, 2010, 12 noon. Interment will take place in First Cambridge Baptist Cemetery, Cambridge Narrows. For those who wish remembrances may be made to Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
