Obituary of Minnie W. Ellis
Minnie Ellis of Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2010 in her 102 year. Born in Havelock on February 27, 1908 to the late Gilbert George and Mary Alice (Blakney) Mills. She was the wife of the late Allister R. Ellis. She was the last surviving member of her family and the sixth of eight siblings. She was a member of Park Avenue United Church, she was a lifetime member of the Pythian Sisters, Loyalist Temple Lodge No. 13 and a member on the Drill Team, and also a past member of the Women’s Institute. She is survived by one son, David (Lorna) of Saint John; one daughter, Marlene Whittaker (William) of Quispamsis; three grandchildren, Heather McNally (Wayne) of Beaver Dam, Andrew Ellis (Jennifer) of Quispamsis, and Darren Ellis (Michelle) of Sussex; six great grandchildren, Matthew and Meaghan McNally, Sarah and Gregory Ellis, and Alexander and Nicholas Ellis. A special niece, Frances Steeves and other nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 2 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
