Obituary of Pearl Arlene Johnston
The death of Pearl Johnston occurred at the Rocmaura Nursing Home on October 10, 2010. She was born on August 9, 1920 at Saint John to the late Herbert and Lillian (Thorne) White. Pearl worked as a ward attendant at the Saint John General Hospital for many years until her retirement. She is survived by her two sons: Allan Emery (Joan) of PEI and Robbie Emery (Sandy) of Saint John; three daughters: Suzanne Young (Eugene) of Florida, Donna Hunter (Cecil) of Rothesay and Audrey Murphy (Norman) of Saint John; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Pearl was predeceased by her first husband, Leonard Emery; second husband, Earl Clark; third husband, Leslie Johnston; daughter, Lorraine; son, Paul; brother, Fred and a sister, Lillian. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Pearl’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
