Obituary of Franklin A. Mitchell
The death of Franklin A. Mitchell of Saint John, NB, occurred on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Ward’s Creek, NB on September 29, 1914, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Marshall) Mitchell. Frank served overseas during World War II. He was employed for the Dry Dock for 16 years as a Foreman. Frank was a lifetime member of the Seaview Club and an avid card player. Survived by his common law spouse, Debra Morin of Saint John; his daughter, Anne Marie Clements (Donald) of Baxter’s Corner, NB; grandchildren, Lesley Gallant and Lori Clements; great-grandchildren, Emily Gallant and Owen Gallant; goddaughter, Susan Walker of Black River, as well as many nieces and nephews. Frank was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife, Willa Mitchell, two sisters and a half sister, four brothers and one half brother. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, 634-7424. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel with visiting one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment to take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
