Obituary of Doris Damon Sullivan
Doris Damon (Hutchinson) Sullivan of Quispamsis, NB, wife of the late Allan D. Sullivan, died peacefully at her home in the Kings Way Care Center on Sunday, October 18, 2009. Born in Halifax, NS, on May 17, 1920, she was a daughter of the late, Harry and Dorothy (Johnson) Hutchinson. Doris was employed in the legal profession for many years; the highlights being - Official Court Reporter to Chief Provincial Court Judge, Harold S. Prince (10 yrs) and Judge Nave George (5 yrs) and, she concluded her career as executive secretary for the CEO of Centra Care, retiring in 1982. She was a very loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who we will miss greatly and forever cherish in our hearts. Doris’ children extend their thanks and appreciation to all of Doris’ Kings Way family for their compassion, dedication and care. Survived by her children, David (Glenna) of Middleton, NS; Linda Meehan (Rick) of Bains Corner, NB; Stuart (Debbie) of Kingston Peninsula, NB; Wendy Sullivan of Saint John, NB and Deborah Henderson of Quispamsis; sister, Anne Tonner of Deep River, ON; grandchildren, Corinna, Patricia, Michelle and Mervin Sullivan, Jennifer Meehan-Mannett, David and Steven Sullivan, Neva, Kathreen and Christopher Carr and Jonathan Henderson; nineteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her brothers, John and Bill Hutchinson; sister, Joyce Johnston-Poser and grandson, T. Douglas Meehan. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 11:30 am from Brenan’s Chapel; a reception to follow. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stoke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
