Obituary of Mary " Ruth" Anderson
Passed away peacefully at the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Home on Sunday, November 28, 2010. Born in Armstrong’s Corner, Queens County, NB on March 23, 1921, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Edna (Hasson) Anderson. Ruth attended St. John Vocational School and St. John High School and the Provincial Normal School in Fredericton. She began her career teaching in schools in the New Brunswick area including Minto and then moved to Saint Eustache, Quebec teaching at Saint Eustache School where she would retire and move back to New Brunswick. Ruth loved to play scrabble with her friends. She enjoyed quilting, fancy work and traveling. Ruth volunteered as an auxiliary at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Ruth is survived by her sister, Agnes Sellick of Stanley, NB; sister-in-law, Evelyn Anderson of Hampton, NB; four nephews, Gary Anderson of Calgary, AB; Donald Anderson of Saint John; Robert (Vivian) Anderson and their family, Kyle, Shane and Kurt of Quebec, and David (Tina) Sellick and their family, Tyler and Jill of Stanley. Predeceased by her parents; one brother, Thomas Anderson; one great nephew, Jamie Anderson and one brother-in-law, Eldon Sellick. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home for their care and compassion. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting from 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, December 2, 2010.
