Obituary of Sreekumar Sreedharan

Sreekumar “Kumar” Sreedharan of Saint John, husband of Sakhina (Rajaram) Sreedharan, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a long battle with cancer. Born in Quilon, India on May 5, 1949, he was a son of the late Neelakantan and Yesodhara Sreedharan. Although born in India, Kumar lived for many years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before moving to Canada with his family permanently in 2000, where he and his wife were involved in the Real Estate business. He loved to travel and read, but the greatest enjoyment in his life was spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Sakhina, he is survived by his daughter, Gayathri, and his son, Vishnu, who both reside in Saint John. In keeping with Kumar’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be observed at this time. As is the tradition in his family, his ashes will be returned to India for ceremonial burial at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
