Obituary of William G. Snodgrass

After a courageous battle with the effects of diabetes, William G. “Gerry” Snodgrass passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 2, 1930 at Saint John, NB, he was the son of Kathleen (Shaw) Boychuk and the late Kenneth Snodgrass. Gerry was the owner and operator of Eastern Bottle Exchange until his retirement in 1992. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, his ever present crosswords and his four footed friend, “Babe”. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia. Gerry is survived by his mother, Kathleen Boychuk; one daughter, Kathy MacDougall (Steve); three sons, Gerald (Marlene), Daniel (Grace) and Timothy (Melissa) and their mother, Dorothy; sisters, Betty Allan (Ron), Frances Fournier (Gaston) and Jean Marino (Hartley); brothers, Bill (Connie) and Bob; three grandsons, seven granddaughters, and one great grandson. The family wish to send their sincere thanks to the staff of 4CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their exceptional care and concern shown during this difficult period. As per his request, there will be no viewing or service. There will be a celebration of Gerry’s Life on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the residence of his son, Gerry Snodgrass, 10 Brandon Street, Quispamsis, from 4- 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or to the Saint John Regional Hospital – Internal Medicine.
