Obituary of Metaxia Flogeras
The death of Metaxia Flogeras of Rothesay, NB, wife of the late George Flogeras, occurred on December 23, 2009, at her residence. Born in Greece, she was a daughter of the late Polivios and Vasiliki Daeres. She is survived by her children; Voula Likourgiotis (Theodore) of Rothesay, NB, Sofia Flogeras of Saint John, James (Linda) of Rothesay, Paul (Elizabeth) of Quispamsis, Helene Messerlian (John) of Rothesay, Panayiotis Flogeras of Greece, Vasili (Flora) of St. John’s, NL, Maria Elmajan (Elie) of Rothesay; sister, Antigoni Tsentouros of Greece; grandchildren: John (Stella), Chris (Andrea), Yorgo (Wenke), George (Ksenia), Demetri, Christina, Jenna Michael, Stephen (Luisa), David, Jennifer, Carmen (Daniel), Sergio (Tina), Lara, Paul (Kim), Metaxia, Emmanuel and Natalia; ten great-grandchildren; nephew, Paul Daeres; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Helen Sandos her caregiver who was very special to her. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her four brothers. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Dorchester St., Saint John on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Romero House or any charity of choice.
