Obituary of Nelson Edward Knox
Nelson Edward Knox of Saint John passed away on Tuesday, February 09, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on December 6, 1941, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Jessie A. (Yoston) Knox. Nelson was a member of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement Anglican Church. He was a “jack of all trades”, who worked at various jobs throughout his life. As a hobby, Nelson was renowned for his leather work, making belts, wallets, and purses for many of his friends. He was also a good cook, who made sure that his family had lots of pumpkin and apple pies at Christmas time. Nelson is survived by a sister, Jessie Howe of Saint John; two brothers, John Vernon Knox (Geraldine) of Grand Bay-Westfield and D. Karl Knox (Nancy) of Saint John; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Nelson was predeceased by brothers Clarence and Harry, Jr. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
