Obituary of Dorothy Pauline Belding
The death of Dorothy Pauline Belding of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Clyde Belding occurred on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Sussex, NB, she was a daughter of the late Sterling and Lily (Sharpe) Ganong. Dorothy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 69 of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was an avid bingo player. Dorothy is survived by her nine children: Donna McGowan (Bob Young) of Prince of Wales, Nancy Williams, John “Jack” Belding (Elaine) both of Chance Harbour, Lynn Lambert (Hal) of Saint John, Marsha LeBlanc (James) of Calgary, Rick Belding (Judy) of Saint John, Ardith Melanson (Philip) of Musquash, Kevin Belding (Ann) of Chance Harbour, Andy Belding (Jackie) of Maces Bay; twenty four grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one great great grandson; and one nephew, Gerald Folkins (Marilyn). Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one son Terry; three sisters: Jean Folkins, Iva Ganong and Marjorie Ganong; and a nephew, Frank Folkins. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
