Obituary of Armantine Marie Chiasson
Armantine (Doris) Marie Chiasson, formerly of 45 Pugsley Avenue, Saint John, wife of the late Gerard J. Chiasson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born at Bas Caraquet on July 13, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Théotime and Emilie (Albert) Paulin. Armantine was a member of St. Pius X Parish, the Catholic Women’s League, and the Columbian Ladies Council 8094. Armantine is survived by her children, Suzanne Chiasson (Ron) of Saint John, Christian Chiasson (Cindy) of Calgary, and Michael Chiasson (Suzanne) of Calgary; grandchildren Michael Cole of Calgary, David Cole of Saint John, Christian Chiasson, Emily Chiasson, and Jillian Chiasson, all of Calgary; a great grandson, Dillon Cole; a brother, François Paulin of Varennes, QC; sisters Albertine LeJeune of Saint John and Doris Chiasson of Bas Caraquet; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and to her parents, Armantine was predeceased by brothers Martin, Elzéar, and Augustin Paulin; and by a sister, Priscille LeBouthillier. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7-9 PM and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM from St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
