Obituary of Norma May Trueman

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norma May Trueman on Monday, October 19, 2009, at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in 1921, Norma was a daughter of the late Norman E. and Pauline (McKechnie) Moore. Norma graduated from Saint John High School and Modern Business College and was a longtime employee of North American Life Assurance Co. While working full-time and caring for her family, she generously made time to teach Sunday school at St. Andrew’s United Church and to volunteer with several community organizations, including the Red Cross and the United Fund. Norma’s sweet nature, wonderful sense of humor and great personal strength and courage in times of family crisis will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. She is survived by two daughters, Becky Trueman of Vancouver and Mary Dee Trueman of Montreal; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Bonnell of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband A. Ian Trueman in 1998; two brothers, Hawley Moore and John Moore; one sister, Audrey Guiton. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Alzheimer’s unit of Rocmaura. Their kindness, patience and compassion will long be remembered. At Norma’s request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 2:30 pm from Brenan’s Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424.
