Obituary of James Lloyd Robertson
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of James Lloyd Robertson on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born at Saint John on March 27, 1949 to the late James and Ethel (Quigg) Robertson. Jim was a graduate of Simonds High School and was employed by NB Publishing as the composing room foreman, he was involved with Vet’s Taxi and for the last 22 years he worked for Canada Post. Jim enjoyed harness racing, bowling and playing poker. His greatest love was his family. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend. Jim is survived by his three cherished daughters: Catherine Little (Ross), Jennifer McCarthy (Trevor) and Suzanne Wilson (Jeff); the mother of his three daughters, Christine Murray; five adored grandchildren: Sarah, Callie and Brendan Little, Alex McCarthy and Evan Wilson; brother, Ronald Robertson (Rose); sister, Mary McLaughlin (Jim) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister Jeananne Griffin. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 10:00 am from Stella Maris Church. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
