The death of Margaret Jane DeSaulniers, wife of the late Arthur DeSaulniers, occurred on June 21, 2010, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 21, 1930 at Jacksonville, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Helena (Boyd) Johnston. Margaret was heavily involved with the Girl Guides for 47 years. She was a Sunday school teacher, a Brownie leader, a member of the Red Hatters and a member of St. Giles United Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She greatly enjoyed going to the camp on Nelson Lake on the weekends. Margaret is survived by her children Edward (Linda), Kevin (Cindy), Andrea (Paul J. Smith), and Bonnie (Marcus Jones), sister Ella Ingraham (Roy), of Houlton, ME, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Arthur, Margaret was pre-deceased by two sisters, Sylvia and Myrna. Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service that will take place on Thursday, June 24th, at 10:00am from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Girl Guides of Canada, or St. Giles United Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
