It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden death of Norma Isabel (Wright) MacMurray of Saint John on Tuesday, October 14, 2009. Born in 1928, she was the only child of the late Isabel deForest (Crozier) and Guy Raymond Wright. She was predeceased by her husband Wallace MacMurray and son John. She is survived by son Stephen and his wife Sheila McGinn of Halifax; grandsons Adam of Winnipeg and Wallace of Halifax; daughter Sandra of Halifax; daughter-in-law Susannah and grandsons Andrew and Matthew of Manchester, England. A graduate of Teachers College in Fredericton, she taught in several Saint John schools. Active in the Church of St. Andrew and St. David, she was an organizing member of the church’s Early Education Head Start Program, one of the first in the city. A life-long artist and supporter of fine arts, she served on the board of the Saint John Arts Council and was a member of the Saint John Women’s Symphony Committee. She was also a dedicated volunteer at annual music festivals. Her keen sense of humour and devotion to family will be greatly missed.
