Obituary of William Francis Coholan
The death of William Coholan of Saint John, NB, husband of Marjorie (Lawrence) Coholan occurred on Friday, November 12, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 1, 1923, he was the son of the late Francis and Mary Agnes (Elliott) Coholan. William was an avid sports fan of baseball and hockey; he followed local hockey teams and was a Saint John Sea Dogs season ticket holder. William was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the Carleton York Regiment. He retired from the City of Saint John as a night foreman for over 40 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; two children, Michael (Patricia) Coholan of Quispamsis, NB and Marilyn (Joseph) Lam of Guelph, ON; four grandchildren, Mark and Krista Coholan, Jennifer and Christopher Lam; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Liam Coholan, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Smith. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Bill Elliott (1st cousin) from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception 91 Waterloo Street on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 12:00 noon.
